Thunder and lightening

Just back home after a week on the road. Great show in ostrava. Possibly one of the best gigs with afrocelts. And then a deeply satisfying solo show in the same city in a beautiful church with kate and Graham. Met my friend karel Holas and Franta czerny. Two great friends from Czecomor. Then flew to London to rehearse with Leo and Graham and Lucy Railton for a show called homeland at the weekend in dun laoghaire. With adjagas. Rehearsal was great. Home today. A day of rest and reflection children and the pleasures of home. Thunder overhead. Thunder and lightening calling.

finishing and beginning

Since august i've been pre-occupied with my new album. its ready now for mixing, practically. I must thank Leo Abrahams for his extraordinary work on this record and all the musicians who gave so much to the work. My friend Caoimhin o Raghallaigh will be recording what will most likely be the last piece, in the early days of august. A song about my dad and how long ago he wrapped his coat around me as he continued working in a cold evening field. I wouldn't leave his side. It's going to be great to have Caoimhin in studio, meeting the music of Jon Hopkins and creating something which I know will be magical.

More on this anon.
